![]() ![]() I was hired based on my experience with the criminal justice population and group facilitation. I was employed by this agency very recently. If you have any type of allergies, this is not where you want to be! Good luck! Almost forgot, understand it is a jail very unsanitary, no adequate work space or amount of equipment for employees: computers, desks, fax, copier. the supervisor will discuss other employees' work habits with you, but understand the same will be done to you. They will turn against you the moment you show them you have a backbone. No genuine concern for the well-being or ethical treatment of clientele or employees. This is a for-profit company that is truly only concerned with their profit. They often give employees the option to resign or be fired. When you attempt to have your issue resolved by management they inform the other party and "team up" on you. All colleagues have grievances with poor management and human resources. ![]() Others say they are there until they secure other employment due to the poor economy. Best of luck.Īfter having been employed by this company I learned from almost every other employee that I should have run the other way. Know, they recently LOST their contract for the Delaware corrections facility due to their poor performance. MHM's only concern is meeting the minimum requirements of their contract. ![]() Neither are you or the clientele are valued. The tension amongst the staff is unbelievable. Many employees express feeling threatened (to lose their jobs) on a basis. If you attempt to get any issues resolved utilizing regional management, they will inform the other party (direct supervisor) and collectively go against you. Know that you are dispensable and when you showthat you have a backbone you will be considered unvooperative and targeted. You will be hired for the position because they are always in desperate need of someone to fill a shift for the moment, hour, day, or week. You earn a generous amount of leave, but will have difficulty when you try to use it. However, YOU will be supervised by unlicensed persons. Compensation is extremely poor, considering YOU must be licensed, experienced, knowledgable, and willing to work in an at risk environment. In the shirt number of months I was there, 5 employees departed. Almost every employee there was actively seeking other employment. Everyone has issues with the direct supervisor as well as with regional management. My first day there I was confronted with disgruntled employees who were responsible for "training" me. I was totally unaware of the extremely low employee morale upon hire. Mental Health treatment was poor for the many mentally ill inmates. This is a "for profit" company and that is all they concerned about. After months of complaining and threats to take it before the EEOC, they finally raised my wages to 3 CENTS over the highest paid LPN there. Also I was the oldest LPN there in work years then found out I was being paid the least amount money then the newer employees and less money then the male nurses. Three months before my termination one of my co-workers did threaten me with bodily harm because I told him all of us nurses had to learn the new electronic EMar. Excellent rapport with all co-workers, CO's, and physicians. I worked as a LPN for this company for 10 years in a max security prison Mental Health Unit then in May 2013 they exercised their "at will" employment and terminated me. ![]()
